Yes. Our portals are available in all major languages
What is the SIM card activiation process?
Our SIM cards are self–activating upon first connection to the internet. Alternatively, we can supply M2M/IoT SIM cards in a deactivated state which can easily be activated by you via our portal.
Is SIM card registration required?
No. There is no SIM card registration required for any of our SIM cards. You are able to manage all of your SIMs yourself through our IoT connectivity management platform.
How long does it take to receive SIM cards?
All of our IoT connected SIM cards are dispatched globally from our offices in the UK. Most shipments arrive within two days and you are connected from the activation of the SIM. We are able to provide test IoT SIM cards with loaded data to ensure we can provide the right connectivity you need.
What control do we have over our SIM cards?
All of our IoT SIM cards come connected to the world leading IoT connectivity control platform, Cisco-Jasper. As part of our service to you, we are able to provide the following features to help you manage your cellular IoT connections:
The ability to instantly switch SIM cards on and off individually or in batches
An unlimited array of caps, alerts and automation rules
Real-time visibility of your SIM cards anywhere in the world
- In-depth analysis of your IoT data usage and connectivity
Live data usage and downloadable CDR (call data record) reports
- Manage the entire life-cycle of your device through one SIM
Sophisticated error diagnostics
You can read more about our IoT connectivity control center on our blog, that goes into more detail about its access, use and benefit for you in managing your IoT connections.
Do the SIM cars tether?
Yes. Our SIM cards tether and have no usage restrictions.
Is 5G connectivity available
5G connectivity and roaming is not currently fully available across networks. All of our IoT SIMs are 5G enabled ready for the new network’s release globally. We can support organizations wishing to pilot and test 5G in controlled environments in preparation for 5G’s release. Once 5G is available, we can connect it over-the-air to all SIMs instantly using the Cisco-Jasper platform.
Until 5G is available, we are able to offer premium cellular IoT connectivity across 2G, 3G, and 4G on most Major Network Operators. We also have an expanding list of Network partners offering CAT-M/LTE-M and NB-IoT. We are confident that we can find a connectivity solution that is right for you and your business.

Technical questions
Can I use your SIMs for asset tracking?
Our M2M/IoT SIMs are ideal to use in asset tracking. All of our M2M and IoT SIMs are able to connect to multi-network operators globally. This unique attribute means that each SIM can connect to any network providing the strongest signal to the asset or device being tracked. You can also keep track of all of your connected assets in real-time through our connectivity control platform whilst ensuring you won’t lose a connection to your asset, wherever they are in the world.
To read more about why you should consider our M2M SIMs and cellular IoT connectivity solution for asset tracking, read our blog here.
What is M2M and IoT?
M2M (Machine2Machine) and IoT (Internet of Things) both refer to devices communicating with each other by exchanging data over the internet. M2M refers to isolated instances of device-to-device communication, and IoT refers to a grander scale of communication between multiple devices via the cloud.
What are the advantages of an IoT SIM versus a consumer SIM?
The principal benefits of using a cellular IoT SIM as opposed to a typical consumer SIM are as follows:
- IoT SIMs have more flexible tariffs which can be created specifically to suit your business needs
- Real time data and analytics of the usage of each SIM and device
- Network quality control features via a connectivity control centre platform such as Cisco-Jasper
- A higher quality of connectivity ensuring 24/7 internet access anywhere in the world
- Real-time control, analytics and visibility of every M2M/IoT SIM card in your devices
- Further infrastructure available to provide enhanced data security.
To find out more about these differences, read our blog that explains these differences in more detail.
Why is multi-Network availability important?
In every country, consumer SIM cards only work on a single Network, which often provides patchy and inconsistent coverage resulting in an unreliable service. Our IoT SIM cards provide non-steered multi-Network roaming in all countries, resulting in a superior level of IoT connectivity and significantly reducing potential blackspots in coverage.
Can you have voice and/or SMS on an IoT SIM?
Yes, both SMS and voice are available. However, if you would like these services blocked, this is also possible on an IoT SIM card. Any SMS or voice requirements will be discussed as part of the tariff building process
Which size SIM cards are available?
4 SIM formats are available:
2FF (Standard)
3FF (Micro)
4FF (Nano)
Trio (3 in 1)
Which SIM types are available?
No matter the device we have a SIM card with a connectivity solution that is suitable for your business.
The most common IoT SIM formats are listed below. Each of which we are able to dispatch to you within two days for either testing or usage.
- 2FF (Standard)
- 3FF (Micro)
- 4FF (Nano)
- Trio (3 in 1)
- IoT Industrial Strength (2FF) SIM cards
- IoT Surface Mounted/Solderable chip SIM
To find out more about the different types of IoT SIM cards, our blog goes into more detail about our M2M/IoT SIMs their usage and the benefits of each here.
What is APN?
APN stands for Access Point Name. The APN is used by devices making connections to GSM, GPRS, 3G, 4G mobile networks and the public internet. The APN gateway defines the type of service a device uses. It can also determine IP addresses, which network to connect to, and any security requirements. All Ritesim SIM cards have a single APN that work globally and are able to switch between networks that have the best signal for cellular data. These SIMs have to be entered into your device in order to access the internet.
